New transmission service pricing technique based on actual power flows

In the paper, transaction based transmission service pricing techniques are addressed. In the paper, one of the power flow tracing technique has been used to determine contribution of each power system participant transaction in a line power flows through whole power system. Results have been statistically analyzed for several power systems and different operating cases. For each power system, a set of different operating states has been created in such a way that realistically represents actual operating states of the analyzed power system. It has been shown that loads' contributions to the lines' power flows remain relatively constant for variety of different operating states. This indicates that transmission service pricing method based on power flow tracing can be utilized in ex-ante manner. In this case, for each node in the power system, transmission service price should be calculated based on power flow data, i.e. from previous year data, etc. For the market player, the new method would be similar as nodal pricing method, however nodal price would be determined based on actual usage of the power network with a help of power flow tracing technique.
