Synthesis Perspective to Technology Accommodation Approaches in Shunt Resonators for Wide-Band Acoustic Wave Filters

This work provides an overview of current technology accommodation approaches in acoustic wave filters. New bands for 5G-NR require extreme values of fractional bandwidths, which cannot be attained with current AW technologies. A common approach is to leverage in the usage of external reactive elements to achieve higher effective electromechanical coupling coefficients $k_t^2$. However, current designs do not control the amount of external elements. By using synthesis approaches the amount of external reactive elements can be controlled as well as choose the best option in terms of losses.
