Application of tutorial system in experimental teaching of medical microbiology

Objective To study the teaching effect of tutorial system and its value on experimental teaching of medical microbiology. Methods The method of tutorial system was applied to the experimental teaching of medical microbiology for the students of grade 2001 and the experimental skills was tested by spot operation. The experimental skills were taken by retrospective analysis and contrastive analysis for the students of grade 2001 and grade 2000. Results The rates of pass, good and excellent for them in experimental skills were 0%, 22.22%, 77.78% and 56.92%, 35.38%, 7.69% respectively. There was high significant difference between the two groups (P0.01). Conclusions The method of tutorial system on experiment is a new model for experimental teaching and can improve experimental teaching effect and experimental skills so that some shortcomings in traditional experimental teaching can be overcome. It has a high applicable value.
