Central Electricity Generating Board Central Electricity Research Laboratories Leatherhead, Surrey, U.K.

A mobile tunable diode laser system has been developed for studies in connection with the CEGB's research programme into acid rain. The system has been used for measurements of HCI in the plume of a coal fired power station and for ambient measurements of NH3 during a field study of cloud chemistry.
