Energy requirements and food supplies of ctenophores and jellyfish in the Patuxent River estuary

Interpretation of published data for the Patuxent River, Maryland, indicates that for most of the year the total biomass of phytoplankton and zooplankton was inadequate to meet the minimum energy needs of ctenophores and jellyfish.
