Soil Stress States Under Various Tire Loadings

ABSTRACT STRESS state transducers were buried in soil beneath the centerline and the edge of the path of a tractor tire operating at slip levels of either 5 or 20%. Higher slip had little effect on the stress state in the soil. Differences between centerline and edge of the tire were detected. Multiple tire passes over the transducers had little effect on the soil stress state.
