Kinetic model for absorption of carbon dioxide into ammoniated aqueous solutions of sodium sulfate

On the basis of film theory, a simplified absorption macro-model of the carbonization process of ammoniated aqueous solutions of sodium sulfate has been developed. This model can be used in industrial designs and process simulations of the carbonizing tower of soda production using mirabilite (Na2SO4 ore) as the feedstock. It can also be applied in the calculation of the mass transfer rates, enhancement factors, concentration profiles, and total transfer coefficients. The calculated results are in good agreement with experimental results.
