A fast convergent algorithm for joint blind equalization and carrier recovery

Convergence speed and residual inter-symbol interference (ISI) are main performance criteria for blind equalization algorithms. According to the fast convergence ability of the super-exponential iteration (SEI) algorithm and the ability to correct the phase error of the modified constant modulus algorithm (MCMA), a fast convergent algorithm for joint blind equalization and carrier recovery is proposed by combining the above two algorithms with fractionally-spaced system. The performance of the proposed algorithm is verified by computer simulations. Compared with the traditional baud-spaced constant modulus algorithm (CMA) and MCMA, the simulation results show that the proposed algorithm has the characteristics of faster convergence speed and less residual ISI. It can correct the phase error of the carrier frequency and improve the performances of communication systems.
