Enabling Technologies forfuture learning scenarios: TheSemantic GridforHumanLearning

Inthispaper, starting fromthelimitations and constrains oftraditional humanlearning approaches, we outline new suitable approaches toeducation and training infuture knowledge based society. Inourvision, learning andteaching arenolonger standalone activities butcomplex, conversational andexperiential-based processes implying collaboration, direct experience, mutualtrustand sharedinterests. We identify characteristics oftheenvironments suitable forthese processes, andwecompare different enabling technology infrastructures inorder tojustify whytheSemantic Grid forHumanLearning, thatisa particular enhanced instance ofthetraditional Semantic Grid, isthemost appropriate infrastructure tobuild ourvision on.Finally, wepresent arealistic learning scenario asacasestudy, proving theeffectiveness ofourinnovative learning approaches forfuture Education andTraining.
