Impact of wireless cellular network on heart rate variability

Electrical and Electronics devices mainly wireless cellular mobile phone has soared in last few decades. Radio frequency radiation (RFR) sources like mobile phones, base stations are low powered and makes multi-channel radiant environment. RFR are non-ionizing and causes only localized thermal heating in the biological material. The frequency of electromagnetic waves, radiated from the mobile phones increases with enhancement in the technology. Recent research on these extremely low frequency electromagnetic field and radio frequency shows cardiovascular changes. The main aim of the present work is to study how the human heart rate is being affected when exposed under the radiation emitted from the mobile phone with considering mobile phone is operated in wide code division multiple access(WCDMA) and Long term evolution(LTE) mode. The Acquisition of heart rate is done using acknowledgment 4.2 software and Biopac 36 kit. Electrocardiogram (ECG) is the complex device which tracks the electrical activates of the human heart. The acquisition of electrocardiogram waveform aid to obtain parameters such as P wave, QRS complex, T wave and heart rate. In our study, analysis of ECG waveform shows slightly change in the heart rate variation and in its parameters. Although these variations are within safe range but one cannot ignore the slight change which can become a serious issue in upcoming future.
