The research of modular independent PV power supply

Based on the analysis of the existing problems of photovoltaic(PV) systems with energy storage devices, the new modular independent PV power supply combined the PV cell and energy storage module was designed which contains the following five parts: the PV array, Battery module, Boost circuit, Buck circuit and the controller. The maximum power point tracking(MPPT) is located by the strategy of combining the constant voltage method and the perturbation observation method. When the battery reaches the critical point of over charging or over discharging, the power matching control method has been implemented according to the output power of the system and the PV cell. Facing the problem of power shortage supply of the single module, the middle current sharing method based on double bus is proposed to average the load with parallel operation. The simulation of MATLAB/Simulink and the experiment with the 20W prototypes based on TMS320F28335-DSP is conducted to demonstrate the effectiveness and feasibility of the system.
