Computer supervisory control of multi stage flash evaporator

Abstract Desalination MSF plant controlled by conventional one parameter controllers through operator interface stations show enough stability at steady state conditions. Load variation is frequently needed in large evaporator units. Hence, it becomes a hard task for the operator to control the distillate product flow rate without disturbing the plant equilibrium. A computer supervisory load variation control program is introduced as applied in MSF plants in the Arabian Gulf area which are engineered by the Office of Dr. M.H. Ali El-Saie, Consulting Engineers, Cairo (Egypt) and Kuwait.
