Sinuous antenna fed by a microstrip to CPS balun

In this article, it has been proposed a developed wideband microstrip-to-CPS balun that offers the advantages of easy integration with planar antennas in a compact size. The measured results of the realized balun structure were compared to the simulated results and it shows a good agreement in its frequency bandwidth from 3 to 8 GHz. To validate the proposed balun performances, the balun has been employed to feed a wideband sinuous antenna in integrated configuration. Simulated parameters of antenna are validated by measurement and show that the balun operates well to field and impedance matching in wideband frequency from 2.5 to 5.6 GHz.
