Generally, Analysis of solidification in casting products is conducted by computer simulation, but it needs a couple of weeks or months to get simulation result data. In this study, A simple new method was used to analyze solidification pattern by temperature monitoring in aluminum alloy casting. Temperature monitoring was conducted to get real temperature data. Microstructure of specimen after test was observed and computer simulation was conducted by FLOW-3D. From analysis of solidification pattern by new method, the cause and possible site of casting defect occurrence could be expected, and that prediction was estimated with microstructure observation and computer simulation results.
