Materials for rural housing: the building materials work of the intermediate technology development group.

The Intermediate Technology Development Group, founded in 1965, is an association of technologists and others concerned with the lack of knowledge about appropriate technologies for rural development. It works through specialist panels considering the problems of technology in different fields. The Building Materials Panel was formed in 1972 to examine available technologies for rural production of building materials, t o identify gaps in knowledge and techniques, and to promote projects to attempt to fill these gaps. The subsequent work of the panel has been guided by 3 observations.
