OBJECTIVE To determine the total content of coumarin in Angelica dahurica. METHODS The Coumarin in Chuan Baizhi was detected at 300 nm by UV method.RESULTS There was a good linear relationship within the range of 2.2-11.0 μg·ml -1 (r=0.9999).The average recovery was 101.32%(n=6) with RSD of 3.34%. CONCLUSION This method is rapid, reproducible, accurate and can be used for measuring the total content of coumarin in Chuan Baizhi.
