Numerical Simulation of Hydraulic Characteristics of Vertical Slot Fishway

Aiming at the complicated hydraulic characteristics of vertical slot fishway,two-dimensional numerical simulation of the water flow of vertical slot fishway on one side has been implemented by using Reynolds stress model(RSM).Comparing the results of numerical simulation with physical model test,it verifies the correctness of the numerical simulation.Three fishway models are established under the tank length-width ratio of 5∶8,10∶8,12∶8,respectively.At the conditions of the bottom slope 1%,3% and 5%,hydraulic characteristics of fishway are simulated.Finally,it obtains the distribution regularity of flow physical parameters about the flow patterns,vertical slot maximum velocity,velocity field,turbulent kinetic energy and Reynolds stress.
