Real-time Simulation System of Torpedo Acoustic Homing with DSP

A DSP-based torpedo acoustic homing simulation system with element signals being simulated is developed for researching and evaluating torpedo acoustic homing system. As high data volume in signal processing, a multi-DSP parallel processing system is used as the hardware platform in the simulation system to achieve real-time requirement. In this paper, the system architecture and functions of each device are introduced firstly, and then the block diagram of the hardware platform is given. The key techniques including real-time transporting element signals with high data volume in the network and multithreading used in the simulation software are given. At last, the simulation is carried out with the simulation system and the result shows that the system is effective and feasible. It can provide a platform for researching and evaluating torpedo acoustic homing in laboratory.
