Optimization of H.264/AVC Codec Using EDMA on TMS320DM6437 Platform

In this paper,H.264/AVC codec is analyzed based on TMS320DM6437,the structure of the encoder is adjusted and the part of the codec with large amount of data transfer is optimized.The cache hits rate is improved significantly by 20%～30%,and the whole encoder velocity is enhanced by 3～4 frames per second.
