Thermography in Hodgkin's Disease of the Breast

To the Editor:— We are currently using thermography has an adjunctive discipline in the study of lesions of the breast. There have been reports of an increase in infrared emission from the skin overlying a breast carcinoma, and we have confirmed this in our own department. However, it is not specific for carcinoma for we have encountered similar findings in the presence of benign lesions and inflammatory conditions. The volume of our work, approximately 3,000 breast examinations per year, has given us the opportunity to apply thermography to a wide variety of lesions.
