Optimization of Plant-row Spacing and Establishment of Plant Height-Hill Density Model in Rice

To explore the rational plant-row spacing and hill density for rice high-yielding cultivation, relationship between plant height and planting density in rice was analyzed. On this basis, golden section method was presented for determining the rational plant-row spacing, which depended on the plant height(x,cm) and could be calculated as follows: row spacing(cm)=0.309x,plant spacing(cm)=0.191x.In addition, power function model for describing relationship between the plant height and hill density(y,hills/m2) was established as follows:y=169437x-2(R2=1).Determining plant-row spacing and hill densities of the representative rice cultivars in production by this model was agreement with the requirements of rice high-yielding cultivation.
