Equipment spare parts failure preventive control based on control charts

As a most frequently used and effective tool, control charts is an effective way for a company to improve product quality and productivity. It can also be used in monitoring the spare parts of equipment, preventing the equipment failure and reducing the maintenance costs. As the research object, the parameter of hazard rate is estimated by assuming that the hazard rate of spare parts obeying exponential distribution, the parameters of control chart is calculated by the economic model. The attributes control chart model is constructed on the condition of knowing the equipment failure parameters. At last, a case is given to verify the validity of the model. This control chart will be able to make the equipment hazard rate declined significantly by periodic preventive maintenance and process control.
