Experimental Vehicle Platform for Pedestrian Detection

This report describes a project focusing on the evaluation of sensor technologies for pedestrian detection. It involved selecting and evaluating a survey of recent and available sensor products in order to assess their applicability for vehicle-based solutions. The performance characteristics and limitations of various products and technological approaches were examined. This was followed by the development of demonstrative experimental vehicle platforms and testing facilities in order to illustrate the concept of vehicle infrastructure integration.
