VOLTAGE REGULATION OF A NOVEL STAND-ALONE DUAL STATOR WINDING INDUCTION GENERATOR

The voltage of traditional induction generator varies with the rotor speed or the load impedance. In order to solve this problem, a novel stand-alone dual stator winding induction generator is proposed in this paper. There are two three-phase windings housed in the stator. One is the power winding which directly provides the power to the three-phase rectifier bridge load, the other is the control winding which is conrected to the excitation control circuit composing of a three-phase pulse width modulation voltage-source inverter. The voltage regulation can be achieved by controlling the reactive current of the inverter. The results of simulation and experiment show that this kind of novel generator is an effective way.
