A new fast adaptive diamond search algorithm on video compression

A new fast adaptive diamond search algorithm is proposed for motion estimation algorithm of H.264 video compression standard, owing to the relationship between the quality of video and the running time of algorithm. Compared with other algorithms, experimental results showed that the searching time is reduced to 1.5ms and the PSNR is increased about 1.3dB by the adaptive diamond search algorithm.
