Design of Space-based AIS Simulation System Based on Actual Ship Distribution

Traditional space-based AIS simulation system is not established on the basis of actual ship distribution data. A new simulation system is designed and implemented. The system is based on actual ship distribution data to calculate power,frequency offset,delay and other signals' parameters. AIS signal that satellite received is generated by the system. Various demodulation algorithms are applied to demodulate the simulated signal. And comparison is made against the theoretical detection probability to assess the algorithm's performance. The impact of signals' parameters joint distribution on algorithm can also be analyzed further. The system provides an effective method and basis for space-based AIS signal demodulation algorithm research.
