“Trial by Screencast” or “Show what you know”: Panopto as an effective assessment tool

The assessment of two groups of students at level 6 and level 7 has been partly done on the basis of their Panopto screencasts.  Examples of two types of screencast will be presented.  In the first, students worked in groups to develop an information system, and had to produce a screencast to demonstrate the functionality of what they had produced.  In the second, students had to produce an individual marketing screencast to promote the developed system.  Feedback from students will be presented, and correlation between grades for this part of the assessment, and the total assessment grade for a student, will be evaluated.
