AERODYNAMIC COEFFICIENTS ESTIMATION OF A TACTICAL FLIGHT VEHICLE FROM NOISY FLIGHT TEST DATA UNDER LIMITED MEASUREMENTS

An Extended Kalman-Bucy Filter and Modified Bryson-Frazier Smoother have been used for filtration and smoothing of measurements of noisy telemeter signals of accelerometer and gyro outputs of a flight vehicle. A novel aspect of this piece of work is filter tuning based on spectral analysis of the measurements. Subsequently the Moment Derivatives of the vehicle have been estimated from filtered rate channels using Estimation-Before Modelling and Feed Forward Neural Network. Very good consistency exists between the Aerodynamic Coefficients extracted from different flight trials of same vehicle.
