Paratylenchus robustus n. sp. (Paratylenchinae: Nematoda) from forest soil in Ontario

Paratylenchus robustus n. sp. was found in soil around birch (Betula papyrifera Marsh.) in the forest near Aylen Lake, Ontario, Canada. It is distinguished from other species in that it has a robust body, a markedly reduced postvulval diameter, an ovary usually with double reflexure at the distal end, a spermagonium, and a spear 58 to 73 microns (μ) long.
