Analysis of the unwanted effects on the radiated emissions and susceptibility measurements due to the introduction of a wooden table

The measurements set-up for verification of compliance to many European Community standards are defined in detail. In particular for what concerns the radiated emissions and susceptibilities testing of electronic devices for tabletop equipment the considered standards states that the equipment to be tested has to be put on a dielectric table with an assigned geometry. Usually, in a lot of laboratories, a wooden table is introduced as a dielectric table. Unfortunately a lot of problems in the higher part of the spectrum arise just due to the introduction of a wooden table in the testing area. In this paper these effects are addressed.
