Performance of the M ary direct sequence spread spectrum system in the multipath fading channel

The performance of BPSK modulated M ary direct sequence spread spectrum system in the multipath fading channel is studied. The error probability expressions for two receiving policies: non diversity and selection diversity are derived, and the approximate expressions are given. Different from other documents, this paper focuses on the case of non ideal receiving conditions, which take into account the effect chip timing and carrier phase errors. Finally, channel characteristics, receiving policies, and synchronization errors effects on the performance are discussed.
