Theoretical Considerations on the Steady Rod Climbing at Vanishing Influence of Gravity

Delgado [4] and Delgado & Rath [5] have shown that the surface elevation connected with the rotating rod climbing (Weissenberg effect) conducts to a steady ellipsoid-like body of revolution when the gravity effect is higly reduced. In the present paper a theory has been developed which describes this phenomenon correctly for the steady-state case.
