Research on collaborative decision-making with the conception of simulation-based material management

Simulation-based material management is an advanced management approach which applies the modeling and simulation (MS) technology in a robust and collaborative way to the entire life cycle of the weapon system. It is an integration of MS tools and resources across management functional departments, programs and phases. The decision-making with the conception of simulation-based material management is shown to be the collaborative decision-making across the life cycle of the weapon system. The collaborative decision-making is realized by capitalizing on the synergy of the integration of organization, the integration of information and the integration of process. A framework of collaborative decision-making is presented, with the analysis of the collaborative decision-making process at the specific decision-making point.
