Reactive Power Optimization Based on Modified Genetic Algorithm in Electric Power Systems

Focusing on the dynamic, multi-objective, multi-restriction and non-linearity characteristics of reactive power, the experimenters propose an improved algorithm based on Genetic Algorithm ( GA) , which appends with the Linear Fitness-scaling in the process of genetic algorithms, the normalization select of stair-step iteration and evolution direction based directed variant GA- To validate, this method is applied to Ward Hale 6 buses. As is shown in the emulation result the algorithm works well on reactive power optimization in power system.
