Evaluation of losses in VSC-HVDC transmission system

The paper describes methods to determine the operating losses of every component in VSC-HVDC transmission system. Converter valves, converter transformer, converter reactors and the others devices are considered. The procedure for loss evaluation is presented and measures to reducing the losses are presented. The difference and similarity of evaluation of losses to conventional HVDC are emphasized in this paper.
