Combinatorial Catalysis and High Throughput Catalyst Testing: Conclusions of the Nato Advanced Study Institute

Powerful tools have now become available for the screening and testing of new materials produced as huge libraries using the combinatorial chemistry approach. These tools may help resolve bottlenecks in catalyst discovery, namely the slow rates of catalyst preparation and of catalyst testing. Each bottleneck represents a different scientific, technological, and methodological challenge and all of them need to be addressed to accelerate the discovery of new catalysts.
