A recurrent structural aberration, t(7;14), in phytohemagglutinin-stimulated lymphocytes.

Two consistent types of translocations between chromosomes 7 and 14 in man were found in lymphocytes stimulated by phytohemagglutinin. A correlation between the breakage point in chromosome 14 and the attachment of the 14q segment to either the short or the long arm of chromosome 7 was found. The possible role of phytohemagglutinin in producing these translocations is discussed.
