Multi-Hit Swendsen-Wang Monte Carlo Algorithm

A new “multi-hit” cluster updating algorithm for Monte Carlo simulations based on the Swendsen-Wang algorithm is presented. The method is applicable to Potts models as well as continuous systems where spin embedding techniques can be applied. We compare the efficiency of the multi-hit and single-hit (Swendsen-Wang) algorithms in terms of the correlation times and the speed per update.
