Numerical simulation study on flow field created in plunge pool by single strap-type jet flow

The strap-type staggered jet flow created during combined flood discharge by surface outlet with flaring pier deep slit-type flip bucket is a new type of energy dissipation.Based on RNG k-e turbulence model and volume of fluid method,a 3-D numerical simulation is made on the unsteady flow field created by the strap-type jet flow jetting into plunge pool in combination with the inverted arch plunge pool of Xiluodu Double Curvature Arch Dam.The flow structure and energy dissipation mechanism of a single strap-type jet flow are thoroughly and extensively analyzed and discussed,which will lay a good foundation for application of such new energy dissipation mode and further study on multiple layers of strap-type jet.
