In the paper by Chen et al. (IEEE Trans. Ind. Electron., vol. 66, no. 4, pp. 2837–2846, Apr. 2019), the authors proposed two fault-tolerant control strategies for T-type three-level inverters considering neutral-point (NP) voltage oscillations. However, some basic problems are worth being discussed about the proposed fault-tolerant control methods. This letter presents some comments and results concerning the paper by Chen et al.
