Unexpected opening of steroidal E-ring during hypoiodite-mediated oxidation

Abstract In this Letter, we report unexpected formation of E-ring opened steroidal alkaloid from primary amine presumably via a hypoiodite-mediated iodoamination followed by fragmentation of sterically congested iodospiroaminal.
