Optimization of distributed Positive Position Feedback Controllers

For automotive vibration control applications often decentralized approaches are useful because of a limited amount of space and readily available communication infrastructure like CAN, LIN and other established bus systems. In this contribution an idea for such a control system and meas-urements of a readily implemented system are presented. Results of the development of an em-bedded analogue controller for the distributed control system are shown. The embedded vibration controller consists of a microcontroller with a CAN interface, a signal conditioning unit for piezo-electric sensors, a tuneable analogue second order filter and a power amplifier for piezoelectric patch actuators. Experimental results of the manual and automated adjustment of the decentralized control nodes are shown.
