Dingle temperature plots in dislocated metals. I

Existing calculations have suggested that there should be departures from the usual straight line. This curvature, however, has been observed less often than might have been expected, casting doubt on the long-range scattering model for dislocations on the basis of which the predictions were made. An improved calculation of the Dingle temperature plot is described for the special case when all the dislocations are perpendicular to the orbit. There is indeed less curvature than expected. It is also possible to estimate the likely error in the absolute amplitude caused by extrapolating the 'straight' part of the Dingle temperature plot.
