An Integrative Approach to Warnings Research

This article provides a broad and general framework for warning research. It combines a traditional cost/benefit utility model of decision making with research concerned with warning design, showing how the two can complement one another. The main elements of the framework are discussed and the central research tasks which need to be carried out in order to elucidate the model and framework are summarised.
