Results of the Application of Multimodal Optimization Algorithms Based on Statistical Models

Difficulties in applying well-known optimization techniques to some problems of optimal design are discussed. It is shown that multimodal optimization algorithms based on statistical models of objective functions are efficient for such difficult practical problems.
