The utility model provides a stockpile detection and control system, which comprises a laser scanner, a processor and a programmable logic controller (PLC), wherein the laser controller is connected with the processor, the processor is connected with the PLC, and the laser scanner sends laser scanning data of the stockpile and the material flow of a stocker to the processor; the processor receives the scanning data of the laser scanner, receives the state data of the PLC, decodes the scanning data and builds the space coordinate about the points of the stockpile and the material flow according to the state data of the PLC, separates the outlines of the stockpile and the material flow, identifies the wave crest of the stockpile by utilizing the outline of the stockpile, computes the distance between the wave crests of the throwing rotary drum and the stockpile of the stocker, and sends the stocker control command to the PLC according to the calculated result; and the PLC receives the control command and outputs the control command to the stocker. By utilizing the system disclosed by the utility model, the distance between a large beam and the stockpile can be real-timely and accurately judged, and the full-automatic stockpiling operation of the stocker is realized.
