This invention discloses a switch method in a WLAN including: 1, a station selects a target access point, 2, the station structures synchronous application request to be sent to the current access point, 3, the current access point forwards the request to the target access point, 4, the target access point receives the request to constructure synchronous response information and sends it to the current access point, 5, which feeds back the response information to the station, 6, if the station receives correct request response information, it first of all cuts off connection of the current access point, then switches to the work channel of the target access point and sets up synchronization with the target access point based on the response information, otherwise, it returns back to the first step, 7, the station accesses the target access point to finish the switch.
