Effects of diode-package cutoff frequency on TRAPATT operation

The cutoff frequency of two ideal types of package is considered, and is shown to limit the maximum rate of rise of voltage for triggering the TRAPATT mode in a commonly employed circuit. The letter also places the negative-inductance concept employed in the analysis on a mathematical foundation.
