Apparatus and method for scaling of soft output values from a receiver structure

The invention relates to a device for scaling soft-output values of a receiver structure, in particular an equaliser, channel decoder or RAKE circuit. Said device comprises calculation means (KS) for calculating a scaling value (var) for the scaling of digital soft-output values (si) of the receiver structure. In addition, the device has an arithmetic unit (AE), configured in hardware for scaling the digital soft-output (si) in accordance with the calculated scaling value (var).
