A GENETIC ALGORITHM BASED ON IMPROVEMENT STRATEGY FOR POWER DISTRIBUTION NETWORK RECONFIGURATION

In this paper, a genetic algorithm (GA) based on improvement strategy for power distribution network reconfiguration is proposed. In this algorithm, the individuals corresponding to infeasible solutions will be improved, the loops in them will be opened up and the islands will be connected, then the feasible solutions can be gotten. By this method, the search space will be limited to the feasible solutions; the efficiency of algorithm will be enhanced obviously. This paper also proposes a new coding precept for improvement strategy and improves the inheritance operation. At the end of the paper, the results of two test computations are shown. They tally with the best solutions, and make clear that this GA has the characteristics of high calculating speed and preferable capability, and can be effectively used to reconfigure power distribution networks for reducing the network loss.
